This is a great opportunity to own property in beautiful scenic Southwest New Mexico. There are breathtaking views in every direction of the open countryside and the nearby mountains. This land is level.

This Southwest corner of New Mexico is rich in history, atmosphere and sunshine. The cultural history of Deming goes back at least 1,000 years to when the Mimbres Indians lived along the banks of the Mimbres River. Several centuries later, American settlers came to this area of New Mexico and the City of Deming was officially founded in 1881. The town grew quickly as the railroad brought more settlers to the Southwest. Deming’s downtown district has retained some of the flavor of those early days with its many registered historic properties.

You can search for desert rocks, quartz, crystals and semi-precious gems at Rockhound State Park or explore the tranquil wilderness of Spring Canyon State Park. During hunting season, you may encounter ibex and elk in addition to deer and game birds.

You’ll love the 18 hole golf course at the Rio Membres Country Club which is open year-round.

After a day outdoors, drop by the St. Clair Vineyards just east of Deming for a glass of their award winning wine and visit their annual festival in October. Art lovers will want to take in an exhibit at the Deming Center for the Arts, which features exhibits by Native American, Southwestern and local artists. You’ll find plenty of festivals on the city’s calendar throughout the year which celebrate many cultures, including Cinco de Mayo festivities, a Czechoslovakian barbecue in the fall, and the annual Christmas Light Parade and Luminaria Display in December.

Deming is a great place to be any time of the year; at an altitude of over 4,100 to 4,300 feet, you’ll enjoy warm days and comfortable cool nights in the summer, with very low humidity. Winter is especially pleasant with clear sunny weather and temperatures being mild and average in the 50's with the spectacular nearby snow-capped Florida Mountains, reaching almost 7,300 feet (at times is between 30 and 60 degrees).

Deming is the County Seat for Luna County and the largest community in the area, with a population of nearly 15,000. It’s major industry is tourism, and visitors and residents alike enjoy all of the shopping, restaurants and services the city has to offer. The cost of living is reasonable in Deming and an incredibly low tax rate makes this area especially attractive to retirees.

The city has enormous potential and plenty of business opportunities for the entrepreneur.

There are several advantages for living near or in Deming which include but are not limited to the close proximity to Interstate 10. The sun shines approximately 360 days per year and I am told that the temperatures are not nearly as hot as places like Phoenix or Albuquerque.

This is an excellent short to long term investment in an area that has all of the conveniences of an urban development but located in a private and rural like setting.
